Although the landscape through central Illinois has been flat, we've been having our own ups and downs. For example, up: a great turnout of folks for artmaking at the Lexington Art Center, hosted by Emma Long. Down: riding in the pouring rain from Bloomington to Lincoln. Up: getting a warm welcome from a crowd at the Lincoln Art Institute, and then making art with them. Down: two flat tires on the road from Litchfield to Edwardsville. Up: meeting all sorts of nice people on Route 66 from Chicago all the way to St. Louis. All in all, the ups outweigh the downs. Check out these great articles about the Art Therapy Pedalers crossing the country and making art with people:
http://www.lincolndailynews.com/News/today_BIKERS.shtml Http://calmarcourier.com/content/artists-wheels-arrive-calmar We have had a great week of making art and meeting friends (old and new) in Chicago, but now we are preparing to ride on. Thank you to everyone who took part in spontaneous artmaking with us. Here are some photos from our various stops in Chicago, and be sure to keep checking back here at the website for updates on our next journey to the St. Louis area and many places in between. We are so excited to arrive in Chicago and fulfill the prophecy as foretold by the fortune cookie. Come make art with us (and find out what is in the treasure chest) at 2 locations: on Saturday, September 6 at 10 am in Grant Park, and on Sunday, September 7 at BFF Bikes from 9 am to 11 am (2113 W. Armitage in Bucktown).
