The Exchange in Cresco graciously hosted our art therapy workshop, and we had a studio full of creative souls for an afternoon of artmaking and discussion.
After many late nights and countless false starts, we finally completed the construction of our mobile art therapy studio. It opens to reveal shining treasure in the form of art supplies. This treasure box will soon be on its way to Chicago, so keep an eye out for it.
And we're off! Two fun events at the Lime Springs Library helped to kick off our journey, and then we were riding to Cresco, Iowa, a mere 12 miles away. However ... ... the first of many expected road closures. But don't worry, we have a solution. They can't stop the Art Therapy Pedalers with a closed road. The art must go on!
The Art Therapy Pedalers joined the crowd of corn lovers in Lime Springs, Iowa, and facilitated the growth of this giant, beautiful ear of corn. Each person made a kernel that represented something they loved about their community, neighborhood, or family. It was on display for two weeks in the Lime Springs Library.
There are only 5 hours until the end of our Kickstarter fundraising campaign, which marks the beginning of the actual project. Unleash the art!
One day we were hiking and out of nowhere a piano player pops up on the beach. When you are out seeing new things and meeting new people, you never know what you are going to see. Two art therapists might show up on bikes and offer to make art with you!
We reached our Kickstarter goal!!! 87 backers strong! Thank you all so much! We are so appreciative for all the support from so many friends, family, and strangers. There are still 2 days until the deadline, so we will continue to raise money to improve all aspects of the project. Also, we still have the get on our bikes and ride, so the work is just beginning. This is an important milestone, and we wanted to recognize the amazing support we have received. Every donation goes to making art with cute babies like the one seen above (not just him, of course...babies of all ages, colors, shapes, and sizes.)
